Careful what you ask for there, HOA's are not your friend. I've always gone the forgiveness is easier than permission route. I have several groundplanes made from mobile whips and from a couple dozen

As a New or even Old Timer.... Do you know who your ARRL Section Manger is? Have you ever met them?
I was an attendee of Hamcom since the 90's, and I very much miss my travels to that event since it's cancellation. Hopefully another convention will rise from the ashes, it left a void as far as NM as

W5PDY's activities were well covered in the ARRL Letter, which I'd do a search for but as you mention, the site is down for the upgrade. I would say what was most notable about him is he was just a pl

1. I've known my section manager for about 30 years (long before he was SM). 2. I see him at hamfests and other social events, and talk to him regularly on the radio. > I would love to learn how to be

Logging Software
Something to look for with any logging program is how the data is being stored. Some save your data in a proprietary format with maybe some export utility for contest submission (cabrillo, et al), but

You can put a straight key on a TS-120 but that doesn't buy you much as far as learning and practice. You can turn off break-in and use the radio sidetone I guess but that's a long way around the bloc

Grab and Go Shack in the Box?
QRZ says you're in Kenosha. I grew up in Wauwatosa. One of my favorite hamfests was the one in Oak Creek. >>Portable? That would be the MPASS for grid down and to setup outside the condo on occasion.
