Ria, Yes I remember that post, and was grateful for your action. I too share the original posters concerns. However, what I was trying to point out, is that some of the many other subjects in that thread have no bearing upon the original post. We are in debt for your service. It takes a lot of time, money, travel, and effort aside from your day job, and the boys (?) to be a Director. Been there done that for another non-profit. Would it not be courteous to others to change the subject heading if the discussion were about something different other than the medallions received by one deserving amateur? There are several good topics here, many quite interesting and worth following along with, others after a few posts not holding interest anymore. That being said, you still have to wade through all the other posts. I can understand why not many Directors or Managers would follow these threads. I have yet to see the Awards Manager weigh in on any of this, so it seems a futile exercise in keyboarding. Could the subject be muted…… sure. However, some of the topics are interesting, and informative, maybe even to the person who muted this subject long ago. The GAPA organization offers a number of digital grid and prefix awards: I've used eQSL and GAPA (works on the honor system, no card submission) and been happy with them. -----Original Message-----

The Western Siberia Organization runs an ongoing grid award program based on grids. Pretty interesting, and some nice awards. In some ways, makes our grid chase look pretty tame. Geopolitical impacts of entity availability is part of the game. If people really get upset over that reality they have some choices. 2. Get some authority to recognize pirate Amateur Radio operations in uncooperative and/or repressive regimes. Another one the concerns me is Turkmenistan EZ. Amateur Radio has been banned in that country since 2006. So for all the folks that need that entity, I hope we live long enough to see a change in the politics. Why this one is still on the list escapes me, as it is totally unworkable, and been that way for many years.
+ In entire history of the DXCC award program, no DXCC entity has ever been removed because of unworkability. There has never been a guarantee that you can work them all.
+ If you'd prefer an award program in which success is assured, either find one, or start one that satisfies your desires. Please leave DXCC alone.
