Hybrid DXCC application?
I’m getting ready to put together a hybrid DXCC application, some cards and some LoTW. I don’t have 100 of either cards or LoTW matches (30 meters, the hardest DXCC I ever did) to allow me to make a “clean” application with one type of confirmation, then add the other type later, so I need some instructions for putting this together.
Is there a FAQ somewhere to help me sort out this process?

I had a similar situation for VUCC. My method was to get a local DXCC checker to review and submit his confirmation to the ARRL, waited until the new totals appeared in the LotW Awards summary, then applied using the LotW application. It took about 3 weeks for that process to work.

Contact a DXCC checker (all can be searched on the ARRL website) and get the details about how to get he process started. I did download a form where I listed all the cards and that went in with the cards. It was fortunate that the guy was only 20 miles away so I handed him the cards and he checked all while I waited. No mailing needed in my case but I do live in the 5th largest metro area in the US. I don't have the link handy but it wasn't hard to find on the ARRL website. When I have obtained a hybrid DXCC with LoTW and some cards, I used an authorized card checker, who are listed on ARRL web site and available at many HamFest associated with ARRL divisions. BTW, I agree that DXCC on 30M is hard. …..best wishes, David David L Shealy, K4KSV davidshealy16@... On Aug 21, 2021, at 1:16 AM, Dave AA6YQ <aa6yq@...> wrote: |

Hans,
To keep this short... I had a similar situation... total of over 100 QSLs, but less than 100 cards and less than 100 LoTW. What did I do? 1. Submit an application with just the cards using the online application process (not within LoTW) to add the cards to my 'legacy' account. Note that you can submit an application that just adds the card QSLs to your legacy account even though the application includes less than 100 QSLs. 2. Once the card QSLs are processed and added to my 'legacy' account, then make sure my legacy DXCC account is linked to my LoTW DXCC account. 3. Finally, use the LoTW application process to submit an award application that will include the 'linked' legacy QSLs and the true LoTW QSLs. It takes a while to work through this process, but.... It does work. 73, Rick - K5GZR |
