Working towards 5BWAS, I worked a station that was supposed to be in Wisconsin, but the LoTW confirmation said Connecticut. I emailed the ham, and he told me he was physically in Wisconsin, operating a remote station in Connecticut. I've marked the contact as invalid, but should it really be Connecticut? Yes, that QSO counts for Connecticut.

Pretty amazing stuff that allows people to get on the air. It is the now and the future. I am amazed at all the griping. I think it is great that people in hospitals, nursing homes, townhomes, areas that do not allow decent antennas can still enjoy their HOBBY. I understand some of the complaints…..a recent QST article was talking about remote operation, from a station in Maine that requires a subscription. The article mentions the economic benefits of renting a station, rather than owning it. Thats all well and good, however, the article also mentions working Europe on 6 m from Maine, vs the authors home in the midwest. In my opinion, those contacts should not count towards the authors DX totals……but…..no one asked me…….

Why not? The DXCC program says you can work dx from anywhere
your specific country. People used to fly around the country to
do this, now they can stay home. Remote has been around a very
long time. There was a well know 6 lander that had an east coast

Rules are rules and follow them we must. If you do not like them get a campaign through proper route to get them changed, or do not participate.
Not much different than the guy that has $75,000 to build a stations with huge antennas on 200 foot towers and full power amps against those that do not. One can dream but it is what it is.
