Why do we ban repeater or echolink contacts and allow remote?
If I make contact via echolink to a repeater in Maine, and then work
Canada (or USA) via RF from the repeater, that is not OK, yet I

You need to stop thinking like this. If what you say is true, then every DX QSO based on an internet originated spot might be considered suspect. Why should someone not listening

I think most DXCC holders don't care and this list is certainly a pretty small sample size

I don't think that anyone is denying that remotes exist, nor want to
ban their use. I run a remote station, I use my remote and I am
thankful that I can use my station remotely.

As long as we have our names in descending order listed by the League
in the yearbook and on the website, people do care how people attain
their positions on that list.

Hugh, if you say thousands are going to drop out of the ARRL if changes do not come, why have we not heard from at least 1% of those supposedly dropping out of the ARRL and DXCC?
