You are absolutely correct. Challenge ONLY deals with BAND entities
and NOT mode.

That "faux marble" appears to be the Challenge plaque. Mine is exactly
like that. The 5BDXCC plaque I have is faux wood (chip wood with a
wood-grain finish).

The newest DXCC item form March 2022 has both of the Plaques and medallions/ Plates are available. The form is hard to find and several of the older forms are still on the web site. The
