Re: 5B DXCC and WAS Medallions
Dale,
Interesting site... I'll need to break out the Mr. GOOGLE web page translation function, but it looks interesting.
Thanks and 73,

Pretty interesting, and some nice awards. In some ways, makes our grid chase look pretty tame. Even accepts LoTW confirmations.

Ken AB1J, Thank you for that info. 73, Gordon Beattie, W2TTT 201.314.6964 From: ktfrog007@... <ktfrog007@...>
qrz.com and eQSL both run HF grid programs. The GAPA group <http://gapawards.com/index.html> runs HF digital mode grid awards. I think some EU digital organizations do also, but better check that.
Lots of FT aficionados are fanatical about collecting grid locs. for the above or other organizations.
73, Ken, AB1J Dave, I totally agree with you re DXCC. Geopolitical impacts of entity availability is part of the game. If people really get upset over that reality they have some choices. 1. Cry to the UN/ITU 2. Get some authority to recognize pirate Amateur Radio operations in uncooperative and/or repressive regimes. :-) On a more serious related note: I still wonder why Grid Squares haven't caught on for HF, or is there a program based on them that I've missed? 73, Gordon Beattie, W2TTT 201.314.6964 From: ARRL-Awards@... <ARRL-Awards@...> on behalf of Dave AA6YQ <aa6yq@...>
I too agree with Neil N4FN, on this point. Another one the concerns me is Turkmenistan EZ. Amateur Radio has been banned in that
country since 2006. So for all the folks that need that entity, I hope we live long enough to see a change in the politics. Why this one is still on the list escapes me, as it is totally unworkable, and been that way for many years.
