Re: 5B DXCC and WAS Medallions

Dave

I am familiar with the great work you did for all of us with LOTW

I also know you devote a huge amount of time to fellow amateurs, still to this day and not only with DXLabs

I use DXlabs Suite of software and love it
because of the amazing person behind it
and the support team you built around it

I am however very frustrated with not only several things at the league but also many of the members that sit on their hands
and have zero input to those few at the league that are listening

I ask for input from my section monthly
yes I am one of the few SM's that actually do a newsletter monthly
I almost always hear crickets when I ask for input

Yes we have many issues with the good ole boys club at 225 Main Street
But I think abandoning the ARRL as a whole will do little to help us in our hobby

I admire you
I value your input
as you have a lot of experience in this and many other issues

Cheers!

While I agree it is far from perfect and those "minutes"
are far from what I want to see
it is better than what we saw before we had these (we never even saw the topics that were discussed, before we were given these)

Again is the league perfect, far from it can it get better, I think so if we have people that want to improve it.

I also think we may be wandering a bit off-topic from Awards at this point I will be glad to continue the discussion with anyone off line or in another forum - Your choice.

+ Steve, I spent 6 years hands-on with the ARRL team helping to salvage LoTW; then all development resources were removed from LoTW. I spent another 6 months on the ARRL's "Communication with Members" Committee setting up new online groups aimed at enabling direct interaction among the Board, Management, members, and radio amateurs at large - like this group. As soon as the "Communication with Members" Committee "expired", all progress ceased; in particular, an online group focused on ARRL Governance was never established.

+ You reap what you sow.
